These forums have been greatly helpful so I'll try and give back a bit on finding the retaining bracket for Eaton panel.

The install was simple for 30 amp 10/3 generator inlet until I was trying to meet 408.36(f). The Eaton panel was installed in 2000, non-PON 200A main and I could see screw hole for retention bracket. However finding the bracket was elusive, they have a version 60 amp breaker that had a hole in for screw for a non-PON panel.

After some googling and head scratching I headed to the local electrical supplier, Platt, and after 10 mins at the counter trying to find the correct part, the guy goes... "Geez, I'm not sure but try this"

Here is the label description:

BR Hold-down kit, spaces 2, 4
2 Pole BR Main Breaker 125A Max
Only for use with Eaton BRP
Plug-On Neutral Loadcenters
BRPHD2

Surprise, Surprise.... It worked perfect, firmly retaining the 2 pole BR breaker. However, based on above description I never would have tried it on non-PON panel with 200A main.

Hope this helps someone else, and good luck.

I bought the UL listed Eaton interlock kit for my panel and the breaker hold down clip did not work as it come out of the box. The tab that screwed into the panel was bent in the opposite direction. I had to rebend it in the correct orientation for it to work. Not sure if I got the wrong part.

I forgot to mention that clip I had worked correctly for spaces 2 & 4, the upper right breaker if the main is on top. No bending required.

That information was actually correct in the description.

I had retention clips for Eaton BR on a panel with a back fed main and it was fine. Bought a gen interlock kit and added a 30 amp back fed breaker for the gen. The clip and everything was fine but the Eaton BR 30 amp had no hole in it for the screw. I think only the larger breakers (50 or 60 amp? ) and up had the hole

There's two part #'s for these depending on whether you need the breaker in spot 1,3 or 2,4.

BRHD and BRPHD2

The interlock kit I installed recently needed the breaker in the top right and platt gave me the wrong part twice before I helped them look it up on the computer.
