PSI testing

Has anyone taken a PSI test? I posted this at the end of another thread but will repeat. I am studying to take the Residential Master's administered by PSI. It is a 60 question test with a 3 hour time limit. My state just switched from Prometric to PSI. What is your opinion of PSI questions and any advice on studying? Were the service calculations questions using the regular method or the optional method or both? I was familiar with Prometric as I took the regular residential test through Prometric several years ago. I have heard that PSI is much more difficult. Anyone with an opinion on that? Thanks in advance.

I really don't know,but if you really study hard you should be confident enough to pass without much trouble.

I have taken several psi tests. Haven't taken any prometric so I can't compare. I am an academic type so I find these tests pretty easy even without studying. I am tempted to say as long as you know the layout of the code book and how to use an index you will be fine, but some do better on tests than others. If your test has load calls make sure you know how to do them. That is the one thing I did study up on.

I agree with Leo2854 and the studying. When I took my Masters I was told I would have a lot of calculation questions. I did the time studying and was so pissed off after taking the test. I had like 3 questions on the calculations. I had no problems passing the test as I know how to use the code book.

It is urban legend that PSI, PearsonVUE or ProMetric or any other testing agency is more difficult than another. After all, they are only the testing agency acting as the provider of the testing service to a given client. Any jurisdiction is free to make the exam as they see fit, regardless of which testing company administers it.
I have tested at all 3 over the years, in some cases multiple times but for different jurisdictions at the same testing agency and I can tell you that it all depends on the jurisdiction and license type, not the testing agency. For example, the exams for Colorado and Wyoming used to be both done by PearsonVUE, but I can assure you they are not the same test.
The key is to get the test bulletin, that is always available at all the test agencies for the exam you are going to take, and make sure you study it carefully, so you know exactly what the details are of what ever exam you are going to take.
