This may not be the correct place to ask this question and if not I apologize.

A friend of mine is going on a business trip to Puerto Rico and I was asked the question "What voltage is used there for household items?"

I honestly don't know..... maybe 120/240 60hz maybe something different?

Is it any different than here?

Thanks for the help.

Here is a good story I heard about PR from one of my coworkers, back when I worked at an electrical distributor.

A Puerto Rican man, working as an electrician here, was a regular customer at the supply counter of the company I worked at. He was buying roll after roll of thermostat wire for a period of time. Finally, the counter guy asked "With all that T-stat wire you're buying, do you need any thermostats?" The man replied, "No, I don't need any thermostats. I'm sending this wire back to Puerto Rico so my family can wire their house."
