Is the use of pull ell fittings described anywhere in the NEC? These are like a mini LB to make a sharp 90 degree bend. If the wires fit the conduit size, can a pull always be used? In my particular case, I'm interested in wires sized #4 and larger.
Conduit bodies with smaller dimensions may be used provided the conduit body has been listed for, and is permanently marked with, the maximum number and maximum size of conductors permitted. Note that this problem is not only with the small pulling elbows, standard LBs are often not suitable for the size and number of wires that are permitted in conduit of the same trade size as the LB.314.28 requires the pulling el (conduit body) to meet pull box requirements with #4 or larger wire.
