I have seen too much damage from a small diameter pull string in with exiting conductors when you try to use the string. If I really wanted to attempt to pull additional conductors in a raceway, I installed a length of 10 AWG, but at 400' I would not do that either. Even with wire "pull string" I would not try it where there are a mix of small and large conductors in the raceway.

Pull string, rope, mule tape, etc. is worthless and likely to cause damage if used in anything but an empty conduit. I ought to be banned from installing with conductors.
Mostly agree.
In short runs, where damage to the conductors is highly improbable, I see no problem pulling in jet line with conductors. We used to do it all the time in light commercial applications when necessary. anything over 75'-100' gets too dicey for that though.
It's totally bonkers IMO to try it in a 400' run. Better off just putting in a spare conduit with mule tape or jet line. It would seem expensive at the time of install, but nothing compared to the failure of conductor insulation with all that friction trying to pull over existing conductors at that distance.
