- Yes.
- 'every actually done service work' is actually above my paygrade to understand.
- I did not realize it was part of the qualification.
- You still do not seem to understand the issue and concern.
- Ignorance remains a bliss........
It says you are a "staff engineer"...so, i would have to assume you've never done service work...you are the same as most engineers i've met....ARROGANT....you know everything...there's more than one way to accomplish this task, yet you want to consult a "civil guy" or whatever that is(i would assume civil engineer, but you claim that's not what you meant)...the issue is soil errosion....i doubt a 1 inch hole will cause an entire driveway to crack, thats all that everyone is saying
I was not born as a staff engineer, nor did I graduated from school and went to work. I worked through college and went to school at night. I had worked many different jobs, both skilled and unskilled. You keep insiting on that it could NOT be a problem despite;
- no soil data was offered,
- no boring depth was specified,
- the manufacturer of the boring equipment offers a free engineering service to advise on how the boring should be done.
- I think the arrogance is not usually manifested by questioning.
- Unwilling to recongnize, or even consdier the validity of a question is arrogance in my book.
- I don't - unlike you - know everything.
- Conclusively; other's knowledge does not intimidate me.
Self confidence can sometimes be mistaken for arrogance.
I am great, and by golly, people like me!
And vice versa. :wink:Self confidence can sometimes be mistaken for arrogance.
Yellow pages.
There are specialists in this type of thing. They come along, work magic, give you a bill, you mark it up and hand it to your customer. And they have insurance!
The best known local company to me are listed under:
* Directional Drilling
* Pipe Jacking
* Trenching
* Underground Thrusting
i was watching a crew push a 4" across von karmen, in irvine (4 lanes)... they made it to the middle of the parking lot, and broke a
12" fire main....
Doesn't Dig Alert, where notified, dispatch Utilities to mark this stuff?
The company offers cost free assitance. A fool would not take advantage of that. The fact that they offer it, and offer it free, should indicate that there needs to be concern.
I am great, and by golly, people like me!
I really don't understand this.
If I offered a "free electrical inspection"....who would be my main concern?
The customer or my own bottom line?
Why would a company like that offer free consultation on the use and application of its tool? If you wish your customers to achieve the best results out of the product, how would you go about it? Address the unknown, the variable. Thus good results will spread the news of the usefulness of the tool and bring both return and new customers.
Simply to sell more.
Isn't that what I just said?
'Thus good results will spread the news of the usefulness of the tool and bring both return and new customers.'
I suppose it it is, if you enjoy conversing with yourself.
