PVC bending

I have a question about bending PVC:
Min. bend radius for both 1/2 and 3/4 PVC
When using the 6 times the dia, is that int or ext?
And where measured:
Inside center, or outside surface of the PVC pipe thru the bend
Thanks,
Jeff J

Might I ask the reason for your inquiry? Is this related in some way to the prefabricated products that you mention in your profile? If this has to do with a home installation that you plan to perform, then the Forum rules prohibit us from giving you any assistance.

Hi,
This is related to prefsbirication of PVC 90's and how tight the bend (radius) can be to allow exit from the slab at 90 degrees.
Thanks,
J Johnson

Jeff,
Where did the 6 x come from? See Chaper 9, Table 2 for the NEC rules on conduit bending radius.

NEC 352.24. Radius of centerline of the bend shall be not less than shown in Table 2 of Chapter 9; 4" for 1/2" conduit; 5" for 3/4" conduit; trade sizes.
