Are we mis-interpreting article #352.44 Expansion fittings? ".... is expected to be 1/4" or greater in a straight run between securely mounted items such as boxes, cabinets, elbows, or other conduit terminations. How about a service that runs vertical for six feet 90's twice and terminates 2' above second 90 with a weather head. Both elbows are on the flat, not inside/outside elbows.

Re: pvc expansion couplings

It sounds unlikely you can expect more than 1/4" of movement on such short runs.

What temperature range will it be subject to?

40 to 70 F ?

O to 100 F ?

Re: pvc expansion couplings

I think you are missing the point. The elbows are on the flat and not secured. The entire run of pvc should expand as a whole, and the only part of run that is secured is at the meter trough.

I don't see that the direction of the elbows makes a bit of differance.

As far as supports there must be one at least every 5' right?

The meter socket would be a securely mounted item and the weatherhead may also be a securely mounted item.
