What's the price difference between a steel cover and plastic? I can't imagine what would be in somebodies mind to want to do that.

Fwiw there are the racketeers top hats, which are plastic, and made to go on a metal 4S box. They are listed, which presumably makes it definitely okay, if they were not listed would it still be okay?
