PVC MC Cable Installation

I visited a job site this week that had PVC coated mc cables installed in the deck and turned up 18 inches along a expose wall before entering panelboard.Is this installation exceptacle by NEC?

The PVC must have been put in for physical protection of the cable ? We had the same situation recently where we had installed MC cable in a piece of PVC between two non-connecting walls. We went down into the slab and back up into the wall. The inspector made us change the MC to coated even though the conductors are rated for wet locations and meet 330.10(A)(11)c.

Brad, can We install PVC coated MC in direct contact with deck (concrete)? If so would We have to derate ampacity? Just asking. I have never used the PVC coated. Thanks

Triphase:

is this MC inside a PVC conduit or is the MC coated with a PVC material like "Plasti Dip"?

after going to that site (previous post) I believe this is the stuff we use up on "The North Slope" and on the "Pipeline" here in Alaska ... been off the job since November and my memory the way it is I think it was labeled MC-X ... can use this stuff almost anywhere ... M ... :cool:
