No, not by hand. We used hammers and chisels once we realized just prying on the joint with a screwdriver wouldn't get it. For all practical purposes, the two pieces had become one.
well, in welding we think a weld is just one piece of fused metal, until we pull and twist the right way. then we see why pulsed TIG with a argon/helium mix makes a better weld.
hammer and chisel is not a method for testing the strength of a PVC joint.
