Hi All,

If you say the cable has PVC/XLPE insulation, does it means it is already applicable for outside use or comply THHW/THHN cable type?
Cable types according to NEC are THHN, THHW, RHW. My understanding is that PVC/XLPE is just type of insulation material, only to validate the "T" of the code. CMIIW.

Thanks!

If it only has PVC/XLPE markings, it is not suitable for use in an NEC application. It must have one of the insulation types shown in Article 310 or be one of the cable types recognized in various Chapter 3 Articles.
