Quazite / In ground fixtures

I am going to look for myself but thought I might ask and see if there is a code I missed or just a best practice----------Do connections inside a quazite enclosure or even in-ground fixtures HAVE to be of the water proof type? I am mostly referring to wire nut. Thanks for any input.

Yes, and the wire nuts have to be listed for wet locations. No more using regular wire nuts and pouring some scotchlock or silicone in them.

No coffee can full of silicone caulk either! We had a guy that would do that. What a mess!
