I have a question on a low voltage pool light that keeps going out. I had replaced the bulb twice already in the past two years and the bulbs keep blowing out. The light is feed from a multitap pool light transformer that can be tapped for 12 13 or 14 volts. The people tell me that they barely use the light but for some reason the light keeps blowing out. For almost 100 bucks im sure it should last longer than a year. The light is rated for 12v and when i put my meter on the 12 tap it reads 13 volts. Can one volt differance really make that much of a differance in the life of the bulb? I am thinking of replacing the the transformer only because it looks like it has seem better days( although it still works). the light is a wet niche light, and it is not loose once it is screwed in, so that rules out vibrations. Should i be thinking about a tvss for the whole house? Any sugestions?
