Section 547.5(A)permits the use of liquidtight flexible nonmetallic conduit as a general wiring method in agricultural buildings

Section 547.5(D)permits the use of liquidtight flexible conduit where flexible connections are required.

Does the phrase "liquidtight flexible conduit" as used in 547.5(D)imply that metallic or nonmetallic liquidtight is acceptable?

The 1987 NEC, section 547-4(b),listed liquidtight flexible metal conduit - not liquidtight flexible nonmetallic conduit - as a permitted wiring method where flexibility was required.

Re: Question on Article 547

It sounds to me like you can use either, as long as you are meeting other requirements of the code.

Like you said, 547.5(A) permits nonmetallic, and I assume the metallic (LFMC) would be one of the "other raceways suitable for the location". And if you look in Chapter 3, both metallic and nonmetallic are suitable for flexible connections.

Re: Question on Article 547

The metal should meet the requirements of corrosion resistance in agricultural applications, shouldn't it?

I know not all metals will satisfy.

Re: Question on Article 547

I assumed the plastic covering would be enough to protect it, but maybe not :)
