Question on conduit under a deck.

Sorry for being new and doing electrical work in a plant...
We need to run electrical to outlets for a deck that's basically sitting on the ground. This isn't the normal strap it to kindorf stuff that I'm used to and I'm not sure where I'd find this in the code.
If we need to run rigid 20' and can't get a clean shot at the screws for straps, does this need to be trenched and buried in lieu of support?
Also order THWN and received THHN. Any thoughts there?
Really trying my best to get away from just pulling SO mentality.

If the deck is sitting on the ground, what would you support it to? Are you trying to support it to the deck? If so then there is nothing wrong with that.

It's on concrete piers at grade, so it's gonna be a few inches off of the ground. I'm being told, just run it on the ground, which I know is wrong. I was hoping to get the part of the code to say it was wrong in some way. Or, rather, something to say the you must support the conduit. I just couldn't find the section.

I would be inclined to PVC laying on the ground directly which should satisfy support and negate corrosive issues.
Otherwise, it appears that 344.30(B)(1) is met for rigid if directly on the ground.

344.30(A) is still required.
Coming off night turn. I'll check it out when I wake up. Thank you!

You can’t remove the deck boards. To attache anything?
If you can’t then I would call it a day and strap at. Both ends nothing else you can do—— you had it probably supported when you were there someone must of removed them

Ok, I have 1"x2"x12' anominal wood strips. Every 10' I strap the conduit to a 12" piece or do I lay a continuous strip under it and still strap it every 10 feet. What holds the wood in place? The conduit?
OK, he’s going under a deck right so you strap the wood long piece let’s say 20 foot board. You strap the pipe to the board then you slide that board into the deck, should be flush with the deck now on both ends ,now take tiny piece of wood or whatever you want to do to attach that wood to the deck now it’s strapped and support it dumb. I would probably not do it and just throw it on the dirt and call it good because no one’s gonna hit it but if he wants to do something easy to get the strapping correctly, that would work.

If you only have 5 foot boards, you just put them end by end and put little first strips to attach them. There’s many ways to do this. You gotta think outside the box if you can’t think outside the box, you should go to a desk job.

I didn’t have to. The dirt is the support.
Hillbilly post #6 is relevant if the decking is not installed. So is strapping, as are stakes of any kind driven into the ground with the raceway secured to them.

IF is key

Read my post 10, it basically agrees with you if you can get to it like post six says, now I could be wrong and miss reading it or didn’t see it, but it doesn’t say if it’s accessible
In the original post, so my part about the board is if you can’t secure because it’s not accessible
If you want to technically be legal and he can’t access it he’s got a secure it ,now I don’t think I’d give a crap

I think we’re saying the same thing. I just probably the way I’m wording it.

I’ll have to start having a ChatGPT word my “post
