A bit off topic for this thread but how and why are they checking for voltage drop?

Is there a local amendment pertaining to voltage drop in your area?

The NEC presently does not care about voltage drop. :D

Actually Bob, I looked at what Hank said about maintaning a continuous conductor through a branch cicuit and although it's not the simplest way to go I think it has some serious merit. Rules and mandates aside.
