Hello All,
Question on conductor of same insulation in a raceway?
1.How many #12 THW wires can fit in a 1 1/2 inch PVC sch.40 Pipe?

If you look at page.790 of nec it says 30 conductors in a 1 1/2 inch pvc sch.40 pipe, If you do it with Table 4&5 the answer is different?
Page. 717 table 5 top right of page says # 12 awg = .0181
Page. 715 Table 4 1 1/2 in. PVC pipe over 2 wires @ 40%fill is .794
If you divide .794 int .0181 the answer is 43.8 == the correct answer is 44 conductors.
is it a type o error? i think .
I also tried it with a hxxw #6 wire in a 2in emt and both Tables C.1-11 and 4,5 tables came up with the right answer.
any thoughts on this ??? thanks guys

There are errors in the wire fill tables. You have to remember that the wirefill tables are not code rules and are just there for your information.

Is that an errata correction? With any new book comes errors....
