All-
We have radio communication at our site that does not have enough signal strength in our tunnels at a soybean processing plant. This is under our bins. Walls and ceiling are all concrete. This is a Class 2, Division 2, Group G classified location. The solution given to us by our communications company is to install a "leaky" or radiating coax cable fed by a repeater. Naturally, the cable will not function if installed in metal pipe. It is plenum rated, but does not have any rating for installation in this situation. Does it need to?
This will have 40 watts UHF, 300 feet of cable.

Thanks!

Dan

There are acceptable non-metal raceways. See Section 502.10(B)(1)(7). But a better solution is to determine whether the cable has a PLTC rating. See Section 502.10(B)(1)(4).
