I'm installing a a meter box and the raiser won't be going through the roof, it will stick out about 2" from the side of the house. I was told to use a unistruit to secure the raiser to the house,so how long a piece should i use? should it be a foot or shorter? and what is the height from the ground to the top of the weather head? is it 14' or 15'?

if this is new construction, and the studs are still open on the inside, I would frame in some 2x4 material horizontally between the studs wherever you want to install your unistrut and cut your strut just a little wider than the pipe.

all good answers above

if the utilityis hanging the OH line off you mast riser than there will be a lot of pull

we have had services go flying off the bldg because of a lack of proper support

If like PG&E utility you'll have to use 3/8" x 3" lags as well, check with your utility companies allowed application for this type installation. You may be code compliant and non-compliant with your local utility.

Long enough to be able to attach both ends into the framing. Usually studs are 16" OC, so 20" ought to be enough. Longer if you want to center it.

Depends on where the drop is coming from, how far it's coming, and what it goes over on the way (street, driveway, etc.). Start at 230.24(B). You POCO may have other ideas, though.

Thanks for the info on the raiser and struit it was on 230.24b #3 which was 15' job done correctly and it looks good thank again to all.
