Equipment we are hooking up requires a "RD Circuit Breaker" ahead of it. My supplier says just the circuit breaker we have will suffice but what does RD mean?
I have seen some suppliers insisting on RCD type circuit breaker ( a residual current device for personnel safety..)...RD sounds more like Frame size of CH breakers.
RD breakers are in the 1600-2500a range as I recall. Yes, digitrip it's a C-H trade name for their electronic trip that originated from Westinghouse that may include a simple LI, or LSI, or LSIG using a "rating plug" and may even include communications.
