Really deep box extensions?

Have a house that is getting 5-6 inches thick natural stone put on all around the outside.
We need to get the lights and receps flushed out on the face.

I checked our local supply places and came up with nothing really made for that.

I was thinking Bell box extensions or something like a floor box that you could flush out.

Is there something that is made for this? All the recep and lgt boxes are single gang and cut into the outside wall like normal.

We could cut in 4sq's and stack on extension rings and put a bell box extension on top of it all is the best idea I had so far.

I guess I should say that the existing wires aren't long enough to reach anywhere but where they are. I am extending the existing wires out so I need it accessible.
I don't think R.S covers are going to be able to have in-use GFCI covers on them? Or lights installed? I might not get what your saying.

They really don't want us carving up their drywall to rewire all of this.

I honestly thought there was a product for this that maybe we just didn't know about around here yet. Not a lot of stone houses or re-faces going on.

You'll want space for wire extending.

How about one View attachment 2579470 followed by two or three View attachment 2579472
And then one of these:

Are they long enough to work on after 6" extension ring is added? Are they prepared for the future service call electrician recommending sheetrock be cut and doing it right?

There is, stack a bunch of extensions like was said. But the problem is that will only work if you have like 12" of tails coming out of the existing boxes. You have to be able to get at any splices and having them 6" back in the old box doesn't make that possible.

If they can afford the stone, they can afford you to do it right.

The cable must come from some direction, since they are putting stone on the wall, can you just cut the wall open and move the box to get a longer cable?

I'd put rigid and bell boxes surface mount and abandon the old circuits. It looks nice. I've seen it on those old money stone houses and barns built during the Gilded Age out on the Main Line, and it was very attractive.

I admit i am not sure exactly how at the moment but I would consider using an Arlington inbox somehow. Like maybe cutting the back off and making sort of a big extension ring out of it? I have pretty deep hatred for any sort of bell box cover or in use cover thing (except an Arlington in box).
