I have a client that wants to install a recepetacle inside a handhole. I've never seen one installed. Is something like this feasible? the client claims that water isn't an issue because the area has more than adequate drainage. The handhole the client wants me to use is existing and has a bottom. The reason for installing in a handhole is due to aethetics, they don't want to see the receptacle.

If this is possible, how would i mount the receptacle to the inside wall of the handhole? Thanks.

Thanks for your suggestion. The only issue with the arlington fitting is that it will protrude from the ground. The client does not want to see it at all. The existing hand hole is about 8"x12" if that helps.

The Missouri river has more than adequate drainage also - until last year.

If you do this install put GFCI protection somewhere ahead of it and not in the hand hole. If hand hole is filled with water and GFCI protection is in the hole, it is useless for the dummy that sticks his hand in there anyway.

What are they plugging in and how are they keeping it from possibly filling up when in use?

This is for a commercial application, so the receptacles would be used to power equipment for outdoor funtions.
