Receptacle Minimum Height

Talk on a job sight brought into discussion of a receptacle minimum height a long the floor and baseboard.
We checked 210 III and could not find any mention for a minimum height.

Is this correct. Is there no minimum height for inside residential dwelling along the baseboard?

The only requirment to meet the required amount of receptacles, is 5? ft above the floor to a point in the floor of 18 in. from the wall. see 210.52 through 210.52(A)(3) anywhere inbetween is ok by the NEC.

Can be on the floor if you like, with approved cover , is that low enough for you ? :grin:

In the 2014 NEC ARTICLE 406.12 ALL RECEPTACLES "SHALL" be no less than 48" on centre from the finished floor and in no case shall this rule be revoked without a 3/4 vote of Electricians over the age of 45 years of age:grin:

There is a minimum of 15" for ADA rules but not residence.

Im allready going to 48 " to bottom of recept. in my unfinished basement so the outlets wont be hidden behind things like plywood against the wall :grin:
