My question is pertaining to 210.21b(3). When it reads a branch circuit supplying two or more recetacles or outlets and refers to table 210.21 (B)(3).
Under the column, circuit rating, for 20 amp rated circuits,is it also referring to a 15 amp rated duplex recetacle ? IN other words, can a 15 amp rated duplex recept be conected to a 20 amp rated circuit.

IN other words, can a 15 amp rated duplex recept be connected to a 20 amp rated circuit.

If there is only a single receptacle on a 20 amp circuit that single receptacle must be 20 amp rated.

But if you removed that single receptacle and replaced it with a duplex it could be a 15 amp receptacle.

It is also saying that all of the small appliance branch circuits, bathroom circuits, laundry circuits, and any other 20 ampere circuits you install my be generally be populated with 15 ampere duplex receptacles. :)
