Article talks about receptacle replacement. Changing out two prong receptacles and replacement them with grounded one. The use of GFCI in the place when there no ground.

replacing a nema-1 where no egc exists for a nema-5-gfi or nema-5 with gfi ocpd. sounds good. i don't like that rule, but whatever NEC says is it :thumbsup:. just be sure the little "no egc" sticker is on the faceplate.
 
I found what I was looking for. Article 406 ( D )(2) Non-Grounding-Type Receptacles ( c ). Thanks for the replies. Appreciate you looking. Couldn’t find it at first.
 
Just to add, if there is an EGC in any cabling between grounding receptacles used on a non-grounding circuit protected by a GFCI, you should not connect it to any receptacle terminal or box.

The reasoning is that a line-to-case/housing short within any plugged in appliance or equipment does not energize the case or housing of another appliance or equipment on the same circuit.

Makes sense, but I thought you were not allowed to extend a non grounded circuit.
