No pic, but I can suggest reversing one stud so that both flat sides are against the enclosure.

Or attach a length of floor track over the open side of the open stud to create a flat surface.

We would typically use a piece of track and steel studs to create a support at the bottom of the panel. As Larry said, the flat sides of the studs would be against the sides of the panel.
 
Here is a pic, not what you asked for 😉. This was a remodel application. I ripped down a wood stud to about 3.25 to fit inside the steel stud. For new construction, unless you are talking about load centers, you will have to modify the framing anyway to fit the usual 20" cabinet. I would just use 2x4s for the new members on each side of the panel.
