I just purchased mike's book and DVD on limited energy and communications systems. Great book and DVD, I think I got more than my moneys worth.

I am still not clear on a couple issues so I am going to try to give a senerio to see if someone can help.

I have a BAS system with several control panels. There is a communications buss run between the panels. Power for the comm buss is intergral to the controllers so they do not have a seperate power source.

Each panel has a DDC controller feed from a class 2 transformer.

Some of the devices being controled, remote from the panel, require 120v feed, and 0-10v control.

I have decided to use class 1 wireing methods so that I can run power and control to these devices in the same conduit.

1. Can other circuits leaving the control panel be wired as class 2, or did i make the entire system class 1?

2. Can the communications buss be wired class 2 and the panel systems be class 1?

Some of the contoled loads have thier own power source. Feed from a different panel.

If I wire the circuit as a class 1, do I need to maintain seperation between conductors of the different sources at the J box where I install the control relay?

Thanks in advance.
