Installing LED tape for undercabinet lighting.
Here's the equipment I'm using:

-5 runs going to basement below kitchen, about 12 feet each. 16/2 CL2 wire
-1 run going from backsplash switch to basement. This can be HV or LV

12v LED Tape:
SMD3528 4.8w/meter
-or-
SMD2835 12w/meter

Driver:
Class 2 12v 45w or 60w dimmable driver
-or-
Class 2 12v 45w or 60w non-dimmable driver

I have a couple questions here:
1. What is the standard and preferred method of installing a switch? HV or LV side?

Install dimmer switch on LV side of driver:
Pros:
-Possibly cheaper driver
-Easier to install RGB controller later
Cons:
-Increased distance of circuit, increases voltage drop

Install dimmer switch on 120v side of driver:
Pros:
-Possibly cheaper switch
-Less voltage drop on LV side
Cons:
-Expensive dimmable drivers

2. Does anyone have recommendations for dimmable drivers?
Armacost has a 45w dimmable driver I'm unable to find their 60w driver.
I'd need to buy multiple drivers if I went with the newer SMD2835 LEDs.

Here's one that is listed at 120 watts. I don't think I would try to go that high because it runs hot, but I have loaded it to about 90 Watts 4 LED ribbon in a display case.

It works with led/cfl dimmer, and I've used Lutron Maestro with great success.

What wiring method did you use with this driver?
The driver linked is not a Listed Class 2 supply. You would need to use a Chapter 3 wiring method and the fixtures/strips would need to be listed for using a non Class 2 driver. Most LED fixtures/strips are only listed for use with Class 2 drivers.

Agreed. I will only be installing a Class 2 driver.

Seems like my best option is a 120v dimmer in front of the driver. I'll either use 2 45w armacost dimmable drivers or the 60w dimmable driver, depending on which light strips I go with.
