Good point, everything I have hooked up so far has been line voltage on the cable from the indoor unit to the outdoor unit. I guess I probably shouldn’t be calling it the “signal”cable?

One of the three is a " control wire" I believe, may still be line voltage though?

but to fix it I sleeved it in non-metallic liquidtight from the about 1ft into the “trough” (I believe the guys out our way, on the HVAC side, call it “line-hide”) and then all of the exposed cable to the compressor. He signed off on it and I have been doing it that way ever since.

This is what I did also and it passed.
