Hey guys (& gals), I'm a flooring contractor in California and I have a question. I tend to hook my 240v Belt sander directly to the main panel when I don't have a dryer or range outlet available to me. Alligator clips on a 10/3 cord with a L6-30r - 30A inline breaker to a 240v adjustable power station then out to my machine's. My question is... A contractor buddy of mine said to me I should be clipping on to the hot bars with my red and black (duh) but then he said I should always be connecting my green alligator clip to the neutral bar whether the ground is bridged or not. Is this true or is my contractor buddy of 35 years getting old?😆

Thanks in advance,
