Refrigerated Trash room

I'm really wondering if freezing the trash will keep it from smelling, or if the freezer will just lock the odor in enough to really make it unbearable when someone opens the door.

And if there is a way for rodents to get in and out, I don't think the temp will slow them down either.

So you don't think there would be a difference in smell if you walked into a hot stuffy trash room vs. a cold refrigerated one?

I think the fact that it will NOT smell as bad will reduce the likelyhood of rodents.

I too am going to stick to the dry location tactic, and simply say that unless conduits are sealed - it would matter not what type of fittings were used. You could be drawing in the outside atmoshere in any type of conduit situation if not sealed. I have even seen that happen in MC. As Bob mentioned, sealing is often ignored. (Until you get the service call for the jelly jar fixture full of water that no one knows how it gets there...)

I worked for a pizza joint in Boston as a kid - it had a trash room that was also in the middle of the building, and I will tell you - there is NOTHING that will keep rats from finding it, or getting to it. Broken glass in concrete only held them at bay for a short time, and stainless sheets only presented a challenge to eat through the framing to get around it - frozen trash hasn't stopped them in the street - so I doubt it would in the building. Daily trash pick up is the best.
