Yeah right, that's a photoshop job. :D

Sounds to me like the inspector is calling for it on all refrigerators. I pull #12 dedicated then I won't be surprised even if it comes in at 220V which has happened to me with a washing machine.

See your making the decision based on experience. I do the same.
One thing we didn't ask is, "Is this a Custom Home or a Tract Home?"
9 times out of 10 a custom home will have a Zub-Zero, a tract home
will have a -20.

Crazy talk! There are no tract homes in California. ;)

Nope not even one! :D
Does your "Steak Dinner" bet only include Viking's and Sub-Zeros?
I work in labs and I have a few -80's that draw 20I non-continuous.:D

Well, yea, when you get into the commercial side of things, Pete'll say all bets are off.

You guys keep wasting your profits on 20amp Dedicated circuits, i'm just gonna keep on installing them on the allowed SABC... A fridge draws almost nothing.

Seriously, If not spec'd in custom homes,Fridges are nothing but
future change orders. I really don't know why I'm even posting I
don't even wire houses, you guys know way more than me! :D

Actually, I make money putting in 20a dedicated fridge circuits. I don't say I'll wire the fridge to work. I say I'll wire it so no matter what you install, it'll work.

I don't price my work to Code minimum, then run a bunch of extra stuff and kill my margin.

That's why your the Boss 480. I do the same, I do a lot of power quality
work and the NEC minium will not cut it,Safety ,yes, Function, not always.
But, then again that was never the Intent of the NEC.

well, it seems I stirred a bees nest. Where were you guys when I was upset about all the damn outlets required within 25' of equipment? I was ridiculed I tell you!

Anyways, thanks for the logical advice, as well as closure on there (not) being a phantom code that forbade sharing circuits.

As Larry Fine says, "Welcome to the Zoo!" :D

Your all missing one major point. Your fine on rough, now on final if frig is in place and spec says 20 amp or even 15 amp dedicated and you dont have it you get red tag. Do any of you know what that frig takes on defrost ? Your playing a stupid game. If you get by on this and i am the inspector i will be looking at every inch of your job because you just told me you are going to bare min on everything. Think of cost to fix if your wrong. frig siting there on final says 20 dedicated. Even if your right the GC will not use you again. Are you needing that extra money that bad ? Long term your hurting yourself. If your this cheap i don't even want you near my house.

An inspector can only enforce the minimum code anyway. That means a dedicated 15 amp circuit, or a receptacle on the SABC. If either of those is in place, the inspector's job is done, whether you like it or not.
