Refrigerator Issue

Amana has the same thing:

"If the refrigerator is not cooling properly, check to make sure the Refrigerator is turned on. Some Refrigerators need to be manually turned back on after a power outage or power surge. The Refrigerator could also accidentally be turned off during routine cleaning."

Why is there a power switch on the refrigerator, how often do people turn off their refrigerator? I have never needed to turn off my refrigerator.

Multiple websites have that exact same two sentence text quoted above. And then more websites have:
"Some refrigerators need to be manually turned back on after a power outage or power surge."

Refrigerators that need to be manually turned back on after a power outage, I would call that a major design flaw.

Might also be necessary after locating a different circuit by trial & error.

Whirlpool Corporation puts a lot of different brand names on their products.
Many years ago, Whirlpool made Sears Kenmore, then Sears went to Roper, so Whirlpool bought Roper to get Sears back. Only a couple of manufacturers out there, they just stick different names on the same product! LOl!

Where's the on/off switch?
If you turn the temp dial all the way over, sometimes you can feel the “click”. The Blue and the Orange boxes plug in the displays so the lights come on when you open the door. Problem is, people turn them on, then energy management turns off the power to them at night, then all of them start up at the same time in the morning, tripping the breakers. The orange box only has a couple of circuits, so always getting a service call on them. The blue box puts lots of circuits down to theirs, so not as much of a problem. The Orange box would also power the microwaves and ovens at one time, but would have us disable them internally so only lights and clocks would work.

Later Kenmore gear was made by LG (Lousy Goods) after Whirlpool dumped Sears, not even sure Kenmore is still around, only about 30 Sears & K Marts left. While I have had very good luck with Whirlpool appliances but having to manually restore power after a power failure is a serious defect that should be subject to a recall.

Amana is a Whirlpool brand.
