Just a quick foreword - I'm not an electrician.

I'm thinking about buying a friends hot tub, but before doing so I want to figure out how much it would cost me to run the electrical.

The spa has two pumps and a heater and it requires a two pole 50 amp breaker. Unfortunately, I am looking at nearly one hundred feet from the electrical breaker panel in my basement to where I could place the spa in my backyard. It would be about 64 feet from the electrical breaker panel to the spa disconnect panel outside, and then 32 feet from the spa panel to the hot tub itself.

I was thinking that I could just run #6 THHN for the entire run, but I am not if I'll have to worry about voltage drop over that distance. So if that is the case then would I have to run 4 AWG from the electrical panel to spa panel?
