Relay for 3 way switching with 2 wires

I thought you could provide 3 conductors from one of the switch locations. In which case you could use a regular three way switch there, and use just one relay as the other "3-way switch", i.e. the travelers go to NC/NO. The relay coil gets controlled by the 2 conductors on the existing long run you don't want to rewire.

Correct - if you are referring to Ron's diagram, each single pole switch would require its own relay.

It's a 2 pole: has 2 NO, 2 COM, 2 NC but only 1 A1 and A2. The guy at the counter says 'it's like having 2' and I believe him.. (They're only $16 a piece, stupid me shoulda taken 2). I take to site, happy at saving from the labour intensive work of running new wires across the warehouse but in no time am stumped.. Is it possible still when only 1 input to turn on/off this relay? I think it's not as previously I had to turn each (relay) on and off with the load. However contactors are so versatile maybe it is possible but just above my pay grade lol

Not entirely true, depends what the need is. Yes there are two poles but they both operate simultaneously. If you need two poles to operate independently you still need two relays.

Many "single pole" relays are the same frame as two pole from the same product line, they just omit parts for the second pole. Sometimes they may even bridge the two poles together and increase the overall contact rating. Those particular single pole units are not necessarily less price then a double pole though.

If you are referring to mine, There are no single pole switches.

There is three, Three ways and one four way.The added Three way acts
as a single pole. Used it in place of a single pole so it wouldn't show a
off and a on the handle.

The relay is a general purpose double pole,double throw switch
which stays either always on, of always off according to how the
added switch is activated.This Relay acts exactly like a standard four way switch.
Depending if its on or off.

There are no push buttons or momentary switching.

I would state my life on this circuit working.If it is wired correctly.

OK, but if he is referring to mine he surely noticed there is no 24 volts in the circuit
I tried to make it a simple as possible.

Doing it this way material wise shouldn't cost no more than 10 bucks.

One relay and the three way.

But if he wants buy a four way light switch and use a single pole double throw
relay for an equivalent Three way, that route might be less.
