All I have searched for code reference on wiring for a remote head connected to eye it light . I have looked through articles 700 but I can’t find specifics to this particular question. Do you know where I can find it? Thx

I don't know what you're talking about. What is a "remote head" and what do you mean by "eye it light"?

Also, could you update your profile to include your occupation?

Remote head off of a exit emergency combo fixture. For battery backup egress lighting if breaker trips on the branch circuit for the lighting

The wiring between the battery and the remote head is an emergency circuit and must follow all of the rules for emergency circuits.

Is it considered a class2 circuit. There isn’t anything specific to the wiring to the remote head only the branch circuit that I can find . Do you have a code reference?

I haven’t done any lately, but the ones I’ve done in the past did not have separation between the input power and output, so a 300/600 volt wiring method would be required. I always ran emt with thhn conductors. Back then, they were incandescent, not led, so wire sized for voltage drop was critical. Usually the engineers would call for #10 on shorter runs, with up to #6 on longer runs.

No kidding , I was thinking we always pulled a 18-2 wire or some low voltage cable to the remote heads through the wall. The reason I was thinking it’s a class2 is because we were able to make up terminations with wire nuts and didn’t need a box . Just mounted the light straight to the wall. Pictured is the light I’m referring to 1watt max on a battery back up im thinking 12 volt. I figured I would be able to find this in code book easily but has proven to be a challenge. IMG_9768.jpeg

There is Class 2 emergency lighting equipment, but I doubt that the output power from the typical battery emergency light is listed as a Class 2 output.
700.10 applies to the connections between the battery unit and the remote head, unless the battery output power is listed as a Class 2 power source. If there is a Class 2 emergency power source then the rules in 700.11 apply.
