Remote pedestal feed to the house

I have a remote pedestal where my meter base is located. Also on the pedestal is my 200 amp breaker for my house. The feed then runs to a disconnect on the side of the house, then feeds into my circuit breaker panel. I’ve had to run new 4 wire cable to the house. My question is, is it necessary to have the disconnect inline or can I just go direct to my circuit breaker panel from the pedestal since it has a 200 amp breaker? Seems redundant... Thank you
