repair of conductors

So if i have a conductor, say a 300 aluminum, that has been pulled into a conduit and the coting becomes damaged but no to the extent that the inside cable is shown, how would someone repair the conductor coating? Does the NEC address this issue? (please note that i didn't do this, it was found upon my inspection)

It looks like just the outer jacket is a bit chewed up and there is no exposed bare conductor. From what's visible in the photo IMO nothing needs to be done.
 
its not thwn or thhn, as long as the inside cable isn't exposed then it is ok? not sure if the "chewing" continues on into the pipe.
If the part of the conductor that you cannot see is in question then the cable should be tested.
