Replacement of meter panel

I am selling my house and the new proposed owner says it is illegal to feed the existing 200 amp main load center located on my house (with original 200 amp breaker in place and fed with 200 amp feeders) from the existing 150 amp meter main with 150 amp breaker located on the property edge. is it illegal, please?
