Replacing receptacles

If the blank would catch fire so would the paneling on every home I still see baseboard attached.
Baseboard don’t produce enough to be a problem-
Are they not like 200 watts a foot- that a lot of dissipation.

Is igniting device faceplates a real world problem? 🤔

Ron
I wouldn't think so if they're listed, as they would be made of non-combustible materials. However, decorative homemade plates seem to be a popular thing to be sold at Saturday markets and the like.

It helps if your receipts are from suppliers using educated purchasing agents.

At my last IAEI meeting on counterfeit listing labels, UL rep with fake holographic NRTL stickers from China showed why reasonable people wont know better.

Fake Big-Box breakers with no closed position was my only clue, last time I noticed it happened to me.

Criminals are rarely so considerate to fake it in the permanently off position.

The issue is cords plugged into the receptacles and laying on the heater housing melting or getting brittle. If a faceplate ignited I would be looking for the heat burning up.

Yes, I know. I was being facetious. I have electric baseboard heat at my house.
