Cant seem to find this in the code book. Installing a steam unit in single family residence, it has a built in 2 pole 50 amp breaker. Do i need to install a disconnect next to unit or does the unit breaker serve as a disconnect.
Or do I even need a disconnect since there is no motor.Thanks

Yes a disconnect is required. Take a look at 422.34 for unit switches as disconnects.

The internal 2 pole breaker qualifies as the required disconnect.
