It seems to me that I created a little confusion, so let me try to clarify my question.
for example: my own house is heated by a 90,00btu natural gas heater in a closet. when I replaced the old heater I rewired as I have always been taught. heater hard wired with romex in greenfield with a switch as a disconnecting means. but someone told me that this was old code and that you could connect the gas heater with cord and plug. Is this legal?

Re: Residential gas heaters 3

I would have to agree that if it is listed to be connected with a cord than this should be OK but look @ Art.422.16(A)(B).

Re: Residential gas heaters 3

If it is listed, it is to be used within the parameters of its listing and labeling. 422.16(A)and (B) would not really apply under those circumstances. :D
