hi,

I'm doing a Reno where customer wants to add electric car charger and a hot tub and trying to decide whether service can handle it. It's a 200 amp 120/240 single phase service.

This is what I came up with. If anyone knows anymore demands I can add let me know. Seems to me like a 400 amp service might be coming.

Try the Optional calculation - it may just squeak in. Is there a built in microwave? How about a garbage disposal? Any supplemental heating strips in the mini splits?

Ok, thanks will try that one too. There is both a built in microwave and a disposal.

Like suemarkup said, if the splits have AUX heat then that AUX heat load can be calculated as 65%. Also if you go optional method you can use the actual nameplate for the appliances. This may save you 500VA each on the htwtr and dryer since you don't have to use the 5kva.
