Residential Remote Metering Point

Looking for feedback if it's allowed to put the metering point 25-30' from the dwelling. Planning to have an ATS and generator along with feeding a barn and well house. Not something I have seen, but not sure why I couldn't do it for my personal house that we are constructing.

The code does not prohibit that.

I have a customer that has his meter, ATS, LP tank, and generator at the pole out by the highway at least 100' from the main house and barn/shop. Not too terribly unusual out in the country.
