I was recently roughing in a remodel project. I placed my sub panel behind a door in a Powder Bathroom. I had all my clearances met, and the panel was a good 10ft from the nearest water source, and the location seemed perfect. The Inspector didnt like the fact that the sub panel was in a bathroom, and made me turn it around so that it was now behind a door in the Master Bedroom. Where in the code book does it tell me where I can and cant put Sub Panels. I know I've seen Sub Panels in Bathrooms before, it's normally not my first choice, but on this particular project, it just seemed to make sense.

The statement is that the panel may go in the bathroom but you can't have overcurrent devices in the bathroom. Check out 240.24(E)
