Mistake maybe not the best word to use. I might have done similar to what you did, eventually realizing as you did that the fault is returning on a path other then the EGC of the circuit that is tripping. If at that point you conclude that this is impossible then mistake is the correct word.:happyyes:
Instead being a mistake, you just weren't quite sure how to proceed at that point, or didn't want to spend any more time searching for the issue without first thinking on a plan of how to proceed and happened to ask us what we thought.
I'm confident you would have figured it out with or without our help, just a matter of whether someone said something that made it go faster.
