REF: 310.15(B)(6)

Does the above apply to 2/0 URD XLP USE Alum not buried in Conduit. Does the code book rate the 2/0 URD for the 245 amps as direct burial service entrance. If so please furnish reference.

Re: Residentual Service.

If you look at table 310.15(B)(6) You will find that 2/0 Alu SEU is only allowed for a 150 amp service.

310.15(B)(6) For application of this section, the main power feeder shall be the feeder(s) between the main disconnect and the lighting and appliance branch-circuit panelboard(s). The feeder conductors to a dwelling unit shall not be required to be larger than their service-entrance conductors.

The first printing of the 2002 NEC has a misprint. The heading to the table 310.15(B)(6) does not show the permitted conductor types that can be used with this section. The permitted conductor types are:

RHH, RHW, RHW-2, THHN, THHW, THW, THW-2, THWN, THWN-2, XHHW, XHHW-2, SE, USE, USE-2.

You can find the errata for the NEC at the NEC Digest website, www.necdigest.org
