Residential Electrician, retired
I'm very new to Mike Holts Forum. I was a member many years ago, but was on very infrequently. I ran my own residential company for 29 years. So now I'm retired.
I'd like to get rid of all the tools and materials I have acquired. But I'm uncertain as to how this falls into the rules and regulations here of allowable posts. But then I thought, maybe it might benefit other retired electricians if I created a thread for us...that perhaps we might be able to help others still in the trade. I did a quick search to see if there was another thread with this name... I didn't see one...hopefully I looked hard enough.:) Also, for moderators or others, if you can tell me how to get rid of my old account, I'd be grateful. That account has an e-mail address no longer valid.

There is a Forum here called "Members Trading Post", you can post items there for sale or trade. As for your old account, you can send a message to the Webmaster and ask him to take care of it. You do that by clicking on the envelope icon at the top beside your user name. Then click on "start new conversation", then type in Webmaster. Type your message and hit send.

Little Bill - Is it possible that because I am a new user, I don't have the ability to start new conversations? I don't seem to have access to that... -R

Welcome back
Okay... so something isn't working correctly perhaps. I've got my new membership, right? So I went to the "Members trading post" and the page did _not_ have the yellow "post thread" or thread title line at top. Went back to Forums page and tried to use the post thread there. This allowed me to see all the forums, _except_ for the trading post. Is this because I am a _new_ member and _not_ a senior member?

BTW: Am selling residential materials and (some) tools all in a 12 by 18 shed. My most expensive tool is a Bosch Ground Rod Driver.

PM sent, check your conversations.
(I sent this to Tom Baker too.... thought maybe you might be sick of me..:sneaky:)

Not certain, but new members may have to have a certain number of posts in order to post in the Trading post.

Hmmmm.... I've got a friend here who has been on Mike Holts Forum for 11 years. I might just check and see if he can post my message for me. All I want to post at the Trading Post is that I have a 12 by 18 shed full of residential materials and would like somebody local (to me) to buy what is in the shed.....

Keep posting and your total goes up! :)

I have been unloading my service truck weekly in the "Recycle Bin" ... when finished, I will keep all the power tools and trade the copper for cash !
The service truck has been sold.
After each job I have always recycled. ... never saved anything.

There is a minimum post requirement for new members but I'm not sure how many.
