Retrofit & Wafer light trims, why can't they be friends?!

Depends on how deep you cut the notch.

NDR makes matching retrofit trims to their wafer products. Some of the offerings are fairly new.

Anyone else have an issue with retrofit trims seeming to get overly hot. I know the cheaper ones tend to but I've purchased some lately that are rated for IC and Non IC, insulated attics and non, basically everything you can think of. I'm wondering if it may be this particular manufacturer or if there might be something else to consider

Wouldn't it have been easier just to upgrade the existing and make them all match? Sometimes we try to save the customer money but end up spending more of our time (money) just to save them a bit.


Why do we as electricians do that? and other professions don't? Maybe it is a topic for a separate thread.
